Locals Supporting Locals

Errin & Murray from M&M Security Doors, East Gippsland.

2 business owners in East Gippsland witnessed firsthand the impact on local communities during the 2019/2020 bushfires. Errin and Murray set up their business M&M Security Doors in Swan Reach toward the end of 2019, across the road from their local football oval. The oval was a major staging point for DEWLP Fire Operations which opened their eyes to the extent of the fire disaster.

“We were overwhelmed by the devastation to the East Gippsland community” Errin said, “we  weren’t in a position to donate then as the business was very new, but now having worked with so many clients from impacted communities and hearing their stories we wish to give back to the community.”

Errin and Murray approached GERF with a plan to donate a percentage of their sales to our charity. They stated “we want to make sure that our donation will go directly to those in need, no matter what the emergency. That is why we have chosen to donate to GERF.” We welcome M&M security Doors to the GERF donor family and thank them for their generosity – a great story of locals supporting locals in a time of need.
