25% of the earnings from the book ‘Heroes of Black Summer’ donated to the GERF Fund.
Our GERF Secretary Myra was in Nowa Nowa today for the launch of the new picture story book ‘Heroes of Black Summer’ written by authors Kylie Miller and Craig Sheather, based on the East Gippsland Bushfires in 2019 – 2020. The book includes fire-affected communities, highlighting tools to manage stress, anxiety and depression to support healing and recovery.
Each mini story captures a real life experience of the harrowing events from individuals and families living in the East Gippsland region and emulates the many heroes that emerged throughout the time of devastation. The authors have offered for 25% of the earnings from the books to be donated to GERF in order to go towards the next natural disaster event and we are utterly grateful.
