$8000 donated!

The Traralgon Lions Club have a great track record in our community for supporting worthy causes. Recently the club held a Charity Golf Day – their first since 2019 due to the pandemic – and as a result were able to present a cheque for $8000 to the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund. This donation is testament to the continuing hard work of all Lions members and also acknowledges the support they receive from our
local community. At a recent presentation, Club President Ken Taylor and Mark Henning – Charity Golf Day Chairperson handed over the cheque to GERF President Andy Tegart and the smiles on the faces say it all. Andy said “This is a special donation which will ultimately assist those who are adversely impacted by natural disaster in our region.

GERF is extremely appreciative of donations such as this and although we currently do not have an emergency situation which requires distribution of funds, this money will be retained and put to good use when next we are affected by fire flood or storm”. The Gippsland Emergency Relief fund is run entirely by volunteers and every dollar donated is distributed to those affected in emergency situations. A huge thank you to the Traralgon Lions Club, all its members and the golfers who took part on the day.
